About YA FEST

YA Fest Junior is the sibling of YA Fest, a young adult author and book festival, that was hosted by Easton Area Public Library's Palmer Branch in August of 2012.

In 2011, young adult authors Jennifer Murgia and Cyn Balog approached Stephanie Supinski, branch manager at Palmer Branch of the Easton Area Public Library. They wanted to do a festival celebrating YA authors and their books, but also to allow teens to talk to the authors about their books.  The festival is run by Jennifer Murgia and Ashley Supinski.

Palmer Branch hosted their first YA Fest in August of 2012 with 35 middle grade, young adult, and new adult authors in attendance.  The library greeted 350 guests who chatted with authors, purchased books and entered their names for raffle prizes.

Our mission is to give middle grade and teen readers a chance to connect with authors about books, writing, and publishing.  As a library event, we want to encourage young readers to continue reading.

Our second event in April 2014 hosted 50 authors and had 500 people in attendance.

YA Fest will be hosted at the Palmer Branch of the Easton Area Public Library on October 10, 2015 from 12:00pm to 4:00pm.

YA Fest Junior will provide middle grade authors and readers a chance to connect at the Bethlehem Public Library in April of 2015.  This event is focused on younger readers, grades 3-6.
